Peter Van Dyck was born in Philadelphia in 1978. He studied at Wesleyan University before coming to The Florence Academy of Art in 1998 where he remained until 2002. He was an assistant instructor in the drawing program for two years, and currently is Adjunct Faculty at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His work is represented by the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery, New York where in 2006 he had a one-man show, and has participated in numerous group shows, as well as at John Pence Gallery, San Francisco, and Grenning Gallery, Sag Harbor, NY. He has also appeared in publications such as American Arts Quarterly Winter 2004, Art-Talk, April 2004 and American Art Collector, October 2006.
