Born in Messina, Sicily, Liliana Totaro lives and works in Rome. After studies in civil engineering at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” she received a PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering. In spite of her technical training, her real passion since childhood has been the fine arts, particularly drawing and painting. She moved to Florence to study at The Florence Academy of Art where she received a certificate in painting in 2003. Liliana's early works were part of the traveling group exhibition, “Still Classical, Recent Works on Paper from Florentine Academies and Studios,” New York, Rhode Island and Rome. In 2005 and 2006, she participated in “The Florence Academy of Art Annual Alumni Exhibition held in Florence at the Corsini Family Stables. Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco, CA.
