Born in Messina, Sicily, Liliana Totaro lives in Rome. After studies in civil engineering at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” she received a PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering. She loved drawing (and generally fine arts) since her earliest childhood. Eventually, after a few years as researcher, she made a great shift and moved (2000) to Florence to study at the Florence Academy
of Art. There she received a final certificate in painting in 2003. After staying one more year at the FAA, she came back to Rome where she now works. Liliana's early works were part of the traveling group exhibition, “Still Classical, Recent Works on Paper from Florentine Academies and Studios,” New York, Rhode Island and Rome. She participated in the last three “The Florence Academy of
Art Annual Alumni Exhibition” held in Florence at the Corsini Family Stables. She also took part in "The Florence Academy of art group exhibit" at the W. H. Patterson Gallery in London in 2006 and 2007 and at the Solomon Gallery in Dublin in 2006 too. Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco, CA.
