In 2001 Mason began to pursue his dream of being a professional artist, quickly becoming disillusioned with the education available in American universities. He searched for an alternative, and in 2002 he found it in the form of Gabrielle’s Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lehi, Utah, a small atelier where he studied drawing, painting and had his first experience with sculpture. In 2004 Mason was accepted to the Sculpture program at The Florence Academy of Art where he has studied up to the present day. Mason has been assistant instructor in the Academy’s Ecorché course for two years.
