Born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1984, Jakob dropped out of high school halfway through to pursue a painting career. He was accepted at The Animation Workshop's Drawing school in Viborg, Denmark in 2002, where he studied classical drawing for 6 months under Artem Alexev, a Russian painter educated at The Repin Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia. He then went to St. Petersburg to study privately with Boris B. Kasakov, Artem's former teacher, and professor at the Academy. Shortly after his return from Russia, Jakob was accepted at The Florence Academy in the Fall of 2003. He graduated in 2006, and has been an assistant instructor there since 2005. |
