Thorleif Bogen

After three years painting in Norway, Thorleif came to Florence in 2005 to learn classical painting techniques at The Florence Academy of Art, but quickly gravitated to the Sculpture Program.  The four years he spent learning the techniques of classical sculpture involved gaining an understanding of structure and the miraid possibilities of form.  It has been one of the most challenging and interesting periods of his life.  Now making the transition from student to artist, Thor is enjoying the freedom of letting his natural pictorial sensibility influence his work again.  His most recent work is a reflection of his love of Art Nouveau and Art Deco sculpture and design.
