Mariana was born in 1979 in Lisbon Portugal. Drawing was always a part of her life and she studied in an arts-oriented high school. She continued to paint and draw while studying Industrial Design in college, taking drawing courses at the National Society of Fine Art in Lisbon, and private lessons with a portrait painter. When she finished her degree she realized that she would rather work with pencils and brushes than with computers. Mariana decided to seriously study painting and drawing. She received her painting certificate from The Florence Academy of Art in 2005. She now works in her private studio, and is teaching drawing at an art school in Lisbon.
